Thunder Dog: The True Story of a Blind Man, His Guide Dog, and the Triumph of Trust by Michael Hingson

Thunder Dog: The True Story of a Blind Man, His Guide Dog, and the Triumph of TrustIf you are looking for a book that focuses heavily on 9/11 and the events in the WTC then this book is not for you. It is, however, a very informative book about the life of a blind man and more importantly, his relationship with his guide dogs. If it were up to me though this book would be more about the guide dogs with less focus on the author’s agenda for change when it comes to the treatment of blind people. Yes, we get how normal you are and how you should be treated like a sighted person.

One thing which really grated me was the author’s proclamation that God saved him on the fateful day and it was His will that he managed to get out of the building in time. I’m sorry so it was God’s will that thousands of innocent people died in the planes and WTC then?!?

Anyway, that aside, it was a fairly interesting book.
