Chemistry: Low Boil
One-Sentence Summary: A country boy and a city girl jump each other’s bones within hours of meeting
Review: It’s been a long time since I read a cowboy romance and I was looking forward to this, especially since I enjoyed the first book in the series.
Unfortunately it failed to live up to my expectations. This book committed the cardinal sin of having two characters have sex within hours of meeting each other. Maybe in a life/death romantic suspense novel I would begrudgingly be able to accept this but Cade and Emma are two strangers in a car – and then they end up having sex against the car in the pouring rain. Pretty hot? Yes. But the start of an epic romance that has Cade considering marriage a few days after meeting her? No, no, no.
I also felt that the whole Michael deal was a bit hurried and hard to get my head wrapped around what was going on there.
Then there were the little details like the fact that the author makes a point of telling us that when Emma goes to have a shower she locks both doors leading into the bathroom, but the next minute Cade is knocking on the door and entering the room once she is in the shower.
Ty’s story intrigues me though so I will still be tuning in to see how that plays out.
