Jack Reacher: Never Go Back (2016)

One Sentence Summary: Reacher goes on the lam with an Army woman whose voice he liked on the phone.

Review: Big fan of the Jack Reacher novels but when you read as many books as I do, it’s hard to remember individual plots so I looked it up on Goodreads and confirmed that I did indeed really like this chapter in the Reacher tale and gave it 4.5 stars.

The fact that I couldn’t remember much anything about the plot meant that the film was a lot more enjoyable than if I was busy trying to rate it on how close it followed the book plot.

It had everything you would expect from a Tom Cruise film from witty one-liners to lots of fights and guns and a pretty, engaging female lead in the form of Cobie Smulders.  Throw in a semi-talented young actress playing Reacher’s is-she/isn’t-she daughter and you’ve got all the makings of a blockbuster.

Definitely better than the first film adaptation.  Can’t wait to see which book they plan to make a film of next.
