With the world now aware of his identity as Iron Man, Tony Stark must contend with both his declining health and a vengeful mad man with ties to his father’s legacy.
I’m confused … wasn’t the plot of the first film based around a bloke from an enemy country of the United States trying to make a replica Iron Man suit? I’ve got a feeling of deja-vu.
Also, what happened to the original bloke who played Rhodey? Are there any more recastings in the Marvel Cinematic Universe I should know about?
Also, wouldn’t you have thought that Tony Stark would have programmed the Iron Men suits to only work when he wears them? I know this is kind of touched on in the Donut shop but I still don’t believe Tony would let anyone else near his suits. The Iron Man Vs Iron Man was too much like an out of hand frat party.
Things I liked:
❥ Natasha Romanoff – I knew her from The Avengers but had no idea that she first appears in this film. Can’t wait to see more of her – how comes she doesn’t get her own film?!
❥ The fact that Tony Stark may be dying from metal poisoning just about balances out the arrogance and playboy-ways
❥ Tony’s relationship with his father is nicely explored.
❥ The finale with Rhodey and Stark working together against Vanko and drones was probably one of my favourite “epic finale” scenes – nice to have best friends working and bantering together
❥ Larry Ellison the “Oracle of Oracle”. For someone who works with Oracle every day this made me smile
Tony Stark: [to Nick Fury regarding “The Avengers” initiative] I told you I don’t want to join your super-secret boy band.
