Their memories erased, Eleanor, Chidi, Tahani, and Jason once again settle into the Good Place, unaware of what has previously transpired; Eleanor attempts to piece things together using a clue she left for herself.
I can hardly believe we have arrived at the start of the new TV season already!
And first back is The Good Place which was a surprise hit for me last season. I decided to watch the Pilot because I like Kristen Bell but I didn’t have much hope in making it through the season simply because half-hour comedies don’t tend to be my thing.
The show quickly won me over – it’s hard to say which twist surprised me more – Jianyu actually being Jason the homie, Chidi having the dilemma of choosing who he was in love with, Jason and Janet, meeting real Eleanor or the epic mind-meld of the finale where it transpires that they are all actually in The Bad Place and pawns in Michael’s masterplan!
I was looking forward to seeing how long it would take for Eleanor to find the clue she’d left for herself and discover the truth about the Good Place ……. The fact that this all happened in the first episode of the season left me feeling robbed. Robbed! It’s like the sole purpose of this season premiere was to wrap up all loose ends from the first season so the show, much like Michael, can start from scratch again.
Still, I can’t say I didn’t enjoy it or realise that this show had form for epic twists that we didn’t see coming. I guess I will be tuning in for the hilarious Jason and Janet moments and to see what other curveballs are in store plotwise.
